Cannes, France — Malayalam cinema continues to captivate global audiences at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival. This year, the spotlight shines on Abhijit Adhya’s trilingual film “Aadrika,” as it premiered its compelling trailer at the 77th Cannes Film Festival.
Starring Niharica Raizada in the titular role, “Aadrika” explores the gripping narrative of a woman navigating challenges in a mysterious house, alongside co-stars Ajumalna Azad and Donovan T. Wodehouse. Niharica Raizada, granddaughter of legendary musician O.P. Nayyar, graced the Cannes red carpet, adding glamour to the festival with her presence.
Ajumalna Azad, in her impressive film debut, delivers a nuanced performance as Maya, portraying a strong and resilient character caught in a complex situation. Her role in “Aadrika” marks a significant step in her burgeoning career, following which she has completed filming for three more Malayalam movies set for release soon: “Two Men Army,” “Behind,” and “Prethangalude Koottam.”
