Buddy To All – An Autobiography

It is a difficult thing to tell the story of a life, but then it is more troublesome when that life is one’s own. At the best, the story has taste of vanity, and the main reason for the procedure is that the life, being a normal one, reflects numerous others, and in troublous circumstances such as our own, may give the experience of many as against only one. Thus the autobiographer does his work since he feels that, at the expense of some unpleasantness to himself, he may illuminate a portion of the run of the mill issues that are vexing the spirits of his contemporaries and the next generation. This perchance may provide assistance to some brothers who are struggling in the darkness, thus bring them cheer, when gloom has them in its grasp.

Since us all, people of this anxious and energetic age, encompassed by powers we faintly observe, yet cannot up till now comprehend, unhappy with old thoughts, and half scared of new, insatiable for the material results of the knowledge, brought to us by Science, but looking askance at his agnosticism as regards to the soul. Yet loaded up with other worldly goals, since us all have similar tensions, similar pains, a similar longing trusts, the equivalent enthusiastic want for information, it may well be that the story of one may help all, and that the tale of one should that went out alone into the darkness and on the other side found light, that struggled through the Storm and on the other side found Peace, may bring some ray of light and of peace into the darkness and the storm of other lives.

  • Let’s begin with a brief introduction of yours and an overview of your autobiography – “Buddy To All”.

I hail from the land of Maharajas, the state of Rajasthan, born in the pink city of Jaipur and studied at different cities in Rajasthan, finally graduating from Mumbai University. Academically standing out throughout the school level. I developed keen interest in writing Hindi poetry and creating fine art right from the school days. Getting a few Hindi poetries published in some prestigious magazines.

I started my own business at a very young age of 19 years and later set up my first industry before I turned 24, under the guidance of my father and elder brother. My business provided me abundant opportunities to travel around the world, study and implement latest technologies in manufacturing. With the income flowing in from my industry, I devoted a lot of time, money and energy to support and assist more than 1100 villages of north Gujarat through myself funded NGO.

I retired from active business in 2011 at the age of 55 years. Since then I have fully devoted myself towards the development of visual art and artists of our country. I would feel extremely happy and satisfy if my journey of life can make a few people smile and motivate them to achieve positive vibes to support the under privileged. This is the whole purpose of my publication of this Autobiography.

  • Where did you get the idea behind the story of Broken is The New Beautiful? Do the characters come from real-life incidents or from your own imaginations?

My Autobiography is based on real life experience and is life changing with lessons that are here and not let you witness the pain witnessed by me in real life. Because my story can mentor you to face life bravely rather than being fictional stories. It is also because we all have stories to share but not everyone has the inspiration and desire to share.

So, I choose to deliver inspiration over fixture, it gives me immense pleasure, happiness and satisfaction when I hear from my readers that the relationship got stronger, so this came out of their depression bravely. I would be satisfied even if one Industrialists follows my foot steps to support the under privileged, the way I have done.

  • What message does your latest book carry?

I aspire to bring back humanity to our society. I wish people would be more sympathetic and respectful to each other, let’s be change we wish to see in this world and in future. Let us all be responsible for our actions and ensure that we have kindness towards all. I wish to convey that there is no substitute to hard work, sincerity and honesty.

  • When did you realize that you wanted to be a writer?
Never ! I never wished to be a writer, nor have I studied literature, but at different times of my journey of 65 years, I have realized that there are so many misconceptions about me and my acts, which did not appear normal. That is where I decided to clear those doubts and place my feelings, due to which I acted the way I did.
  • What were the main challenges that you faced to find the right publisher?
This is a long list but I was determined to find my way to fulfill my dreams and so I did. I did try to send the synopsis to several leading publishers of high repute, none responded. However, after consulting a few friends I decided on this publisher with great anxiety.
  • How much important do you think are the cover and title of the book? Have you ever tried hands on your own book cover?

It is extremely important to have a nice cover, a title for my autobiography, so it needs to be presentable and suitable to the character I have.

During my journey with fine arts, I have already learned photo shop and therefore I designed the cover myself and glad I did this effort because it came out beautiful and loved by readers now.

    • Whom do you consider your icons when it comes to writing? Any favourite authors?
The Father of the Nation most respectful and Hon’ble Mahatma Gandhi and his Autobiography “The story of my Experiments with Truth”
    • It is often said that writers have their hearts broken at some stage of life. Does that remain true for you as well?

Yes! It is very true that writers do express themselves in words on papers when they know that there are many people around them to listen to their grievances. Each one of us seeks sympathy whether right or wrong. Most writers feel very deeply and that is why we take the wounds and not bleed on the world for the hate given to us for being different. Very few have the privilege and time to share their thought process and different aspects of life for others to learn from.

    1. What is that dream goal you want to achieve before you die?

I wish create leaders to heal the broken hearts of the under privileged in the society. I wish a few Industrialists and successful businessmen get inspired by the story and come forward to support the under privileged especially in the rural areas.

Further I wish to serve the society with kindness and love to restore the dying humanity and goodness. I wish each one of us to stop ourselves from being critical about others, because I myself is an imperfect human being and have the heart to forgive the mistakes of others.
