Kindness Practice Foundation Hosts Free Cancer Awareness Camp in Mumbai

by | Aug 21, 2024 | Health

In response to the alarming rise in cancer cases across India, Kindness Practice Foundation, a Section 8 NGO focused on preventive and mental health, organized a free Cancer Awareness Camp in Mumbai. The camp aimed to disseminate clinically evidenced information and provide free diagnostic cancer screenings to attendees.

“Cancer does not discriminate by gender, ethnicity, race, or health status,” said Dr. Rachna Chhachhi, Founder of Kindness Practice Foundation. She emphasized the importance of early detection for improving treatment outcomes. Dr. Chhachhi, an Integrative Cancer, Nutrition, and Mental Health Expert, has been treating cancer patients across 27 countries for 15 years.

Healthians, a leading diagnostic lab with over 250 centers nationwide, partnered with the foundation to offer free cancer screenings at the event. “We’ve witnessed the heartbreaking impact of breast cancer, especially in Tier 2 and 3 cities and rural areas,” shared Deepak Sahni, Founder and CEO of Healthians. He highlighted the urgent need for early diagnosis through advanced technology and preventive healthcare.

The camp drew not only cancer patients but also supporters who came to spread positivity and hope. Many speakers were cancer survivors, including volunteers from across India who are now part of the foundation’s awareness initiatives.

Among them was Rinku Agrawal, who heads the foundation’s Patna division and shared her personal battle with late-stage ovarian cancer. Other inspiring stories included those of two-time cancer survivor Dipali Theckedath from Mumbai and Leiomyosarcoma warrior Sonali Gupta from Delhi.

The most poignant moment came from Jasmine Gulati of Patiala, Punjab, who lost her six-year-old son to cancer. She dedicated her life to raising awareness among young mothers, urging them to prioritize early detection and prevention.

The camp underscored the growing need for awareness and early action in the fight against cancer.
