Alokesh Sharma: Leading Transformation in Education and Social Interventions

Alokesh Sharma, a passionate social sector management professional and a doctoral candidate at the University of Glasgow, is making significant strides in the fields of education, social work, public policy, and development studies. With over a decade of experience in education and social interventions management, Alokesh has demonstrated exemplary leadership and expertise in driving impactful change in marginalized communities across India and Uganda.

Education has always been at the forefront of Alokesh’s career objectives. His pursuit of a Doctorate in Education from the University of Glasgow reflects his commitment to advancing knowledge and understanding in the field. Armed with a Master of Science in Mass Communication, Advertising, and Journalism from Punjab Technical University, and a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Ramjas College, University of Delhi, Alokesh brings a diverse skill set and a keen understanding of the social dynamics shaping contemporary education systems.

Throughout his career, Alokesh has held key positions in various organizations, each contributing to his holistic understanding of education and social interventions. At Genpact, as a Consultant for the Better World Initiative, he leveraged Lean Six Sigma principles to enhance data consolidation and analysis, positively impacting over half a million people from marginalized communities. His role as Project Lead-Senior Consultant at the Delhi Commission for Protection of Child Rights involved developing strategies to improve learning outcomes for over a million students through tech-based processes and advocacy initiatives.

Alokesh’s dedication to addressing the issue of quality education for marginalized communities is evident in his work with grassroots organizations such as the Kshamtalaya Foundation, Aafaaq Foundation, and Kayantar Foundation. Through curriculum and program design, he has empowered communities to address local issues in health, livelihood, and education, impacting thousands of students and community members.

In Uganda, Alokesh served as the Government Program Manager at STiR Education, where he facilitated training events to support teachers and collaborated with government officials to promote teacher empowerment as a catalyst for improving student learning outcomes.

Alokesh’s contributions extend beyond his professional roles. He is a published author, with research papers and articles exploring critical reflections in education and the intersection of assessment and learning. Additionally, he is committed to mentorship and career counseling, guiding students to realize their full potential and pursue meaningful paths in education and development.
